Inova Health System Office is seeking a Clinical Data Analyst II to perform data analysis and reporting to support the implementation of clinical effectiveness, performance improvement, and service line initiatives across Inova Health System. Provides quality assurance, data validation, and report generation to support the department. Synthesizes data into meaningful information in selected functions. Identifies preliminary improvement opportunities from analyses. 

This is a full-time hybrid (open to remote) Monday -Friday position. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of available software and maps departmental needs to available solutions. 
  • Manipulates and interprets data from clinical databases, coded data, and other specified data sets. 
  • Uses appropriate statistical, visual, and narrative displays of data in a manner that is easily and appropriately interpreted by the target audience. 
  • Validates or models data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision-making purposes.
  • Develops and tests reports and analyses from various sources, including but not limited to – quality and financial outcomes databases, electronic health record, and safety event data.
  • Responsible for creation, timely submission, and distribution of numerous monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc data reports/scorecards.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Three (3) – Five years’ experience in healthcare data analysis and decision support, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software, data tools, data visualization, and business process documentation tools. 

Preferred: 

  • Statistics, informatics, or quantitative area of study, healthcare administration, or related field of study. Solid proficiency in statistical methodology.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or information systems management, data science, or other quantitative data and analytics field.
